A heat wave here in Merida (109F yesterday) has us running for cover and brainstorming about places we can hide from the sun. You know an unexpected bonus about art? Art needs to be in a climate controlled environment and climate control, my friends? Well, that means air conditioning! So off to the Palacio Municipal Merida (Merida Municipal Palace) we ran. The Municipal Palace was once the home of the governor as well as the center of the government for the state of Yucatan but now is mainly a museum. It’s home to some stunning artwork portraying the (often bloody) history of the area. If you’re ever in Merida we suggest you check it out, and not just for it’s fantastic air conditioning!

Have a great weekend and if you can – please send us a breeze!
